As a financial advisor and owner of Archer Financial Consulting, Kurt Van Wagenen brings a wealth of experience to his clients, specializing in personal, family, business, and estate planning. His journey in the financial industry commenced in 2018 as a Wells Fargo bank manager after a distinguished career in the Air Force. Kurt further honed his expertise through positions at New York Life (2020) and Mass Mutual (2022), before ultimately launching his independent brokerage in 2024. Clients can be assured that he is fully licensed and qualified, holding both a life and health insurance license and investment securities licenses within the state of Texas.
Born in Redding, California in 1977 to Craig and Meybel Van Wagenen, Kurt's early life was shaped by his father's Air Force career, leading the family across the United States. He completed high school in Northern California in 1996 and subsequently joined the Air Force in July of that year. Currently, his daughter Alexa recently joined as a medical technician in the Air Force, while his son Craig is completing junior high. Kurt, a Jeep enthusiast, CrossFit, enjoys cooking and BBQing for his family, which also includes his two dogs, Luna and Thomas. He earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University in Florida in 2016.
Kurt is a highly skilled and dedicated professional with 22 years of distinguished service in the United States Air Force. As a retired First Sergeant and Jet Engine Mechanic, he brings extensive experience in maintaining and repairing advanced fighter aircraft and special operations aircraft. His 18 years in aircraft maintenance provided him with comprehensive expertise in both flightline operations and back-shop procedures, encompassing jet engine maintenance, quality assurance, and maintenance production management. Kurt's career further diversified with three years as a First Sergeant, where he honed his leadership and human resource management skills, including talent development and personnel support. His assignments spanned seven locations, including overseas tours in Iceland and Germany, and deployments during Operation Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom, demonstrating adaptability and effectiveness in diverse environments.
